1819/8 O. 106 R4 Large 9 Capped Bust half, PCGS XF det, AU DavidKahnRareCoins
106 R4 Large 9 Capped Bust half dollar, PCGS XF details, code 92 for cleaned. This variety is NOT a Small 9, it's a LARGE 9. PCGS will fix that for your for free at any major coin show it's what they call a mechanical error... But is actually a data entry error most likely or worst case, an actual attribution error. As an aside, we've often wondered how the valuable PCGS Team Members feel about being called "mechanicals", but we digress. Despite the light cleaning, this coin retains very nice surface quality, luster and eye appeal, and presents the very natural look of an AU coin, despite the label's XF classification. And, it's a much tougher Overton variety too!
